In Loving Memory of
Michael Brian O'Hearn

of Grande Prairie, Alberta
September 2, 1952 - March 24, 2024

Michael Brian O’Hearn resident of Grande Prairie, AB formerly of Maple Ridge, BC, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 in Grande Prairie at the age of 71 years.

Michael was born in Toronto, ON, on September 2, 1952 to Ronald O’Hearn and Irene Hall. At the age of seven years old, Mike and his father relocated to Maple Ridge. His father had met Doreen and together they raised Mike and six other children.

Mike moved to Grande Prairie for construction in his late 20s and met the love of his life Teresa O’Hearn. After six months of knowing each other, they joined in matrimony on April 28, 1979.

Mike and Teresa had three kids and lived for a short time in Maple Ridge but later moved to Fairview, AB to raise their children. The remaining twenty years were in Grande Prairie. In his early years He worked in construction, steel, and brick. His last 30 years of work were in the oilfield.

Mike had a wonderful sense of humour, was a great listener, loved talking and brought calm to any situation. His main focus in life was his family (wife, kids and grandkids). He was always the first to assist the grandkids to school, work, or appointments. He would make sure to share words of wisdom on that car ride. He was not a grandpa – he was a Papa!

In his early years, Mike could be found drag racing cars (his green Gremlin). Rebuilding cars was a passion of his. His most recent car, a 1969 Chevelle, he completely restored from scratch. Mike loved computers; he was the guy in the family that all members came for help fixing their computer. He could be found tinkering on a project in the yard and/or in the garage. Mike had a passion for classic cars and world war history.

He is survived by his wife Teresa O’Hearn; children: Cheri, Donna (Travis) and Michael (Brittany); grandchildren: Mathew, Joshua, Mickie, Paige, Damien, Connor, Brooklyn, Nadia, Xzander, Kalia, and Austin; mother Doreen O’Hearn; siblings: Rick, Tim, Kathy, Shawn, Maureen, and Kelly; and extended family: Jennie, Candy, Shirley, and Michelle.
He was predeceased by his father Ronald O’Hearn and biological mother Irene Hall.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 at 2:00pm at Clairmont Hall (9819 100 Ave).

In lieu of flowers, go make memories in your life because life is too short. Hug your partner, kids and grandkids and tell them how much you love them.
